Summer is Here!!!

Wahoo!  It's Summer!!  I am soo excited!  These last couple of months have been so incredibly busy that we started counting down the days until the end of school long before we normally do.  :)  It was a fantastic year with lots of learning, accomplishments, fun and festivities.  I can't say enough good things about the teachers & staff at the kid's schools!  We are truly blessed to have such an amazing district!!  Thank you for all you do!

We started out our summer vacation with a simple picnic at one of our favorite parks.

We continued the D Family tradition of creating our Summer To Do List and one of the things the kids really wanted to do was feed the ducks.  :(  I only frown because I am not very fond of birds.  They are beautiful creatures, but at a VERY safe distance!  It's a rather long story....

Anyway, we arrived at the park toting the requisite loaf of bread only to find this sign stating "We Love Our Ducks ... Please Don't Feed them Bread."

Having grown up feeding ducks bread, I was a little surprised.  But after reading the sign, it turns out that it's not good for their tummies and pollutes the pond.  Hmm...makes sense! So we purhased handfuls of cracked corn at the nearby Warming House to feed them instead.  Problem solved!

At first the ducks were all clustered on the island in the center of the pond, but it didn't long for them to join us for a snack.  (oh boy!)

Everything was going great until the ducks got a little to close for comfort.  (Yikes...)  Good thing we were out of food.  :)

It was such a beautiful day, so we decided to stop at another park on our way home...any guesses as to the name of the park?!  (I have come to the realization that no matter where you live, there is always a "Rocket Park" nearby.)

Miss B has been trying for quite some time to make it across the monkey bars.  Could this be the year that she does it?!

YES!!  Way to go Miss B!!!

I love summer!  Can't wait for all the adventures that we have planned this year.  Yipee!
